I was trying to add a pci-e riser for my 980 and my computer kept crashing. I went to the bios to look to turn off the auto for the pcie to stop going to gen 3 and make it gen 1. I found a crypto miner thing in the bios and turned it on. I went back into windows and the miner still didnt work. But when I went back to try to go into the bios, all I see is a black screen after pressing the dell key. If you press excape then enter it shuts down the computer like I could see the bios but its not there. I can still boot into windows but the bios is just black. I have a b350 tomahawk with ryzen 7 1800x. Any help would be great.

Solution
Normally, 980 is not ideal for mining as it is very power-hungry. Maybe it does not get enough power through the riser (it needs power from BOTH the board and external connector).
Find someone with a GPU needing less power (i.e. some card using no external power-adapter, 1030 or 1050 come to mind, or 950), and re-try.
