I7-7700K with DDR3

Hello,
I have an I5-6500 with a Gigabyte H170M-HD3 DDR3 motherboard.
I want to upgrade to a I7-7700K does the upgrade work with the motherboard and the DDR3 ram?

CPU Support List for your motherboard.
Since it only accepts DDR3 RAM and the I7-7700K is on the support list, I'd say it would work just fine (after a BIOS update).

DDR3 is not supported on SkyLake and KabyLake cpus. Only DDR3L and DDR4 is supported.
DDR3 will cause damage to cpu.

You can use DDR3 only, if you lower DDR voltage in BIOS to 1.35V or below. This may require lowering ram frequency and increasing ram timings also.

CPU support list shows supported cpus.

All Sky Lake and Kaby Lake cpus require either DDR4 or DDR3L (not DDR3).
