Hi,

Before we crack in, here's my specs:

- Intel i7-7700k
- MSI GTX 1070 8GB
- Asus Prime Z270-P
- Corsair vengeance DDR4 8GB 3000Mhz x2
- Corsair 650W RMX

So I bought a new PC about 5 months ago and it ran all fine for at least 4 months. Then, one day it made this gentle *pop* sound when I turned on the plug, but my PC ran just fine regardless. I thought it was just my imagination. (Do note that I use a standard extension lead, no surge protection, which might have been the issue?)

That said, every other day, it made the same *POP* sound whenever I'd turn on the plug, and after about 5 days, I decided to directly plug the PC into the wall socket (just to check) thinking the extension lead might have been faulty, however there was a loud *POP* and I saw some spark fly out of the PSU. Then, PSU just stopped working after that.

I RMA'ed the PSU, and after getting a new one and replacing it, my PC was back to normal. (I was using the same wall-socket, and a new but same standard extension lead).
However, after a month, it made the same *POP* sound when I turned on the plug, and then RIP. I tested it on a different wall socket, no response.
Also yea, when the second incident happened it tripped the breaker.

So, what do you guys think? How could such good PSU's die so early? Could it be the wall socket (something with the wiring, etc?). Anyways I am going to RMA this PSU as well, but I am really afraid of having to go through this again..without having anything done.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Cheers!
