I was going to write "watch out for the preloaded BIOS version" but it seems #0306 was the launch version for that model and already had Ivy Bridge support due to the h61m-k launching so late in the Sandy Bridge product cycle.

Usually, when mixing an older generation motherboard with a CPU one generation newer, one would begin by using an old CPU from the same generation as the motherboard to make sure that the motherboard actually works and has one of the newer BIOS versions on it.
