hi guys, can I use like a 1000w psu for a budget gaming pc? like

Ryzen 3 1200
GTX1050Ti 4GB

but use a 1000w psu. does it matter? Thanks!

Solution
I have no problem overprovisioning a PSU a bit. Say 20%.
It will allow for a stronger future graphics card upgrade.
It will run cooler, quieter, and more efficiently in the middle third of it's range.
A PSU will only use the wattage demanded of it, regardless of it's max capability.

More important for long term use is to buy a psu of top quality.

Then all you need is a quality 500w PSU.

Regardless, you can certainly use a 1k PSU with these components, but it is an unnecessary expense/capacity.
