Hi,

My apologies in advance if I’ve posted in this in the wrong spot. Thank you for everyone who provided their support and help in advance as well for my issue.

I built a mini-itx build with the following key components:

Asus Z270I Rog Strix motherboard
16 gb (2 8gb sticks) Corsair 2400mhz
I5-7600K processor

I originally had 8gb ram of EVGA Superclock 2400 which seemed to work fine at first. No issues ever really with it. I then upgraded to a 16gb ram package (G. Skillz ripjaws 3200MHz). When that happened I got the second yellow orange LED error which means there is an issue with the DRAM. I tried putting the original 8gb ram back which no longer would work either. As a result, I am unable to post my system. I tried replacing the mobo since it was within 30says of buying, and i still get the same issue. I went out and bought the Corsair 16gb ram and even that does not work with the new motherboard. I’m really confuse on what’s wrong here at this point.

I’ve tried switching ram slots, using one slot, triggering the CMOS reset via the two pins on the motherboard, using different ram, using no ram.

My only concern is that my CPU is dead, though I do not see any bent pins on either CPU or CPU socket. Or could it be motherboard issue that despite getting a second one?

I have attached pictures below as well in case I don’t see something that you guys might on the CPU.

Any help is appreciated.

You should be able to access Bios by spamming the Delete key during post cycle and if not then check for any LEDs that are continually lit on the MB. If the DRAM_LED is continually lit then its a problem with RAM.
With your MB you must have access to Bios to update and use the EZ Flash utility.

CMK16GX4M2A2400C16 are listed on the QVL so have been tested and should work.

F4-3200C16D-32GV G.Skill as a (2x8) 32GB kit are not listed however F4-3200C16Q-32GTZR are listed...
Hi gurshawnstuteja :)

Please list the Part No of the RAM kits you're using. Both Corsair and G.Skill.
I will check if they have been tested and listed on the QVL. Not to say there is a mismatch or they won't work at this point.
You may have a corrupted Bios in which case update to latest Bios version and reset CMOS to default.
Use the EZ Flash3 utility in Bios from a USB.
Once done just insert one DIMM module in the first slot to test and switch them around incase a module is failing.

No there does not appear to be bent pins in the CPU socket.

Hi, the part numbers for the ram are:

CMK16GX4M2A2400C16 for the corsair

And F4-3200C16D-32GV for the G. Skillz

As for the bios, I have not been able to boot into the Bios once yet, so how do I update it exactly with the method you mentioned?

Thank you!

Don't try to mix modules from differing kits.

That is the issue I am trying to solve here: my DRAM LED light is continuously lit. I have tried three sets of ram, one which works previous before I started to replace the ram. AS I mentioned, I have gotten two sets of new ram now to try and a second motherboard to try as well.
