Extreme FPS drops on GTX 1060

Upgraded from a R9 270X to a GTX 1060 6GB a while back and noticed that it suffers from EXTREME FPS drops,by which I mean it plays like a slideshow most of the time, on a few games like Mass Effect Andromeda, CoD:WW2 and Batman Arkham Knight making them completely unplayable. Also should be noted that this seems to get better on MAE if I let it just run for some time and after some time it starts running completely fine. This is strange because others like the Witcher 3,Battlefield 1 and Doom work perfectly fine from the get go. My specs are below and I already feel like the RAM is the culprit but all advice is appreciated.
CPU:Intel Core i5 4440
RAM:Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB 1866 MHz(MoBo only supports till 1600 though)
GPU:Zotac GTX 1060 6BG AMP
HDD:An old Seagate 7200 RPM drive dont remember the model
PSU:Corsair VS450
If you need any further info I'll try my best to get it. Thanks!

You have way too little RAM for modern games. You should have 8GB minimum. Preferably 12GB to 16GB, as a few games can use more. You'll just hit a wall again pretty soon with 8GB.

As it is an older computer. I'd suggest buying used RAM off eBay. You'll save quite a bit of money. Just make sure it is unbuffered and non-ECC.

Many won't mention if they are unbuffered. Memory is either Registered or Unbuffered. So, avoid Registered memory. If the number ends in an R it is registered. For example you would want PC3-12800. You would not want PC3-12800R.

If it say ECC avoid it. You want it to say Non-ECC.

Yeah I'm probably gonna get an extra 8GB soon. Any idea why the other games work fine, though? Also, thanks! :)

Some games can squeak in at under 4GB. Even though many games say 6GB or 8GB. Does not mean they actually need that much. Depending on settings they can use less. Many developers are also being cautious. Since people have Anti-Virus, Web Browsers and a bunch of junk startup programs running in the background.

Makes sense, will save up for the RAM then. Again, thanks a bunch!
