From what I have read I can install either a Phenom 2-N660 dual core or a Phenom 2-N930 cpu in a hp g6-1b50us. One catch. Both alleged replacement processors run at 35w and the factory installed Phenom 2-650 is a 25 watt processor.
Since I'm not really familiar with this HP model's cooling capacity I'm concerned that either replacement will run too hot for the laptop's cooling capacity. I'm aware that some laptops are designed with very efficient cooling capacity that will take more cpu wattage but am unsure this upgrade will work without overheating.
Anyone have experience with cpu swapping of this model laptop?
