Do I need an SSHD/SSD for gaming?

Was wondering if I needed one of those for gaming because sometimes in the middle of a game my hdd has a shit fit and has 99-100% disk usage causing major slowdowns on everything. I also heard something about hitching in open world games and an ssd(not sure about sshd) being able to reduce that as I play some of those and rust is stutter simulator for me. If I don't need either one then wtf is wrong with my hdd? I recently starting closing my browser when playing games and it helps a little but sometimes in task manager System is sucking up everything.

I have 8gb of ram, gtx 1080 ti, fx8350(ik bottleneck was planning on upgrading later), and 1tb hitachi hdd.

don't need one, but it don't hurt any having one, and it can speed up some things in some situations: gaming is one of those things. But the first thing you need is enough RAM. 8GB has been fine for a long time, but 16GB is more and more often needed to keep it all running properly
