Hi everyone, i have some kind of issues on my Z97S SLI Krait mother board.. i´m trying to do SLI but the second slot don´t recognize the second graphics card? is the same problem as you? the X8 should be to X16? how i change it? thanks How i change it? thanks

Solution
It could be a defective PCIE slot, I had a issue with my MSI Z87 MPower where I lost power one night and all of a sudden the second PCIE slot stopped working correctly. It read the card, kind of, however SLI wasn't able to be activated.

And i clearly see on the box of my motherboard and it says, that my mother board " Z97S SLI Krait Edition" is capable of 2x Pcie Gen3 X16 so i don´t know why shouldn´t do it..?

It will have 2 pcie X16 slots but no cpu for that socket has 32 pcie lanes which is needed for X16 X16. When you get sli running both will run at X8.

You really don't need to worry about X8 with GTX950's. Both gpu's are connected to the psu and you have the sli bridge installed?

Each 950 should be in the white PCIE slot and connected to the PSU if the extra power is needed. From there turn the system on and go into the Device Manager, both cards should show up under Display Adapters. If they do then go to Nvidia and download the newest drivers, during installation check the box to perform a clean installation. Once that is done go into Nvidia Control Panel and enable SLI, done!

One of my 2 graphics card don´t need psu cable, she already takes energy from the Motherboard, and on the device manager it only shows one graphic card and can´t have the option in Nvidia Control Panel.. so basicly i don´t know what to do more..

Yeah.. maybe is taht.. the second Pcie slot won´t work anymore... i tried to put the main graphic card in the seconde Pcie slot and that didn´t detect anything... maybe its borke... i should buy some new graphic card and give this SLI for my brother new´s pc.. what mother board you can say is better for SLI?

It's going to be tough to find a 1150 socket motherboard for a reasonable price as anything new is going to be well over $200. I think you should wait until GPU prices come back down then sell both cards and buy a single better GPU as SLI profiles are pretty limited and you may not see much of a improvement in some games.

yeah but.. im building another pc to my brother, so i´m probably gonna buy a new sli motherboard to him and give him the SLI, and i buy a new GPU now for me.. i think it´s the most resonable thing to do..
