Hi,
my current gpu & cpu are dying slowly, and it's because they're really old now. I'm writing this because i want to know the best possible GPU & CPU i could get, budget isn't a problem, but i wonder what my motherboard can take.

i'm currently looking at MSI's GTX 1070 Ti Gaming X 8GB & the Intel Core I7-8700k but i dont know if they are compatible with my motherboard.
I use the computer for gaming and streaming and thats why im looking to upgrade, so i have a bit higher fps and could stream with no fps drops.

Current specs:
Power Supply:

Corsair VS550 550W KPC Bulk Edition At least 85% efficient (80 PLUS White 230v EU Certified)

CPU:
Intel Core i5-6400 Skylake Socket-LGA1151, Quad Core, 2.7GHz, 6MB, 65W, 14nm, Boxed w/fan

Motherboard:
MSI B150M BAZOOKA, Socket-1151 m-ATX, B150, DDR4, PCIe-x16, HDMI, DVI

RAM:
Crucial DDR4 2133MHz 16GB (4x4GB) 16GB Kit (4GBx4) DDR4 2133 MT/s (PC4-17000) CL15 SR x8 Unbuffered DIMM 288pin

GPU:
MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB PCI-Express 3.0, DL-DVI-I, HDMI 2.0, 3xDisplayPort

Solution
I would do it in parts, try it with a gtx 1070 first and see how it goes.

IM THINKING, that the i5 6400 is sufficient enough to stream cuz I do it too with an i5 6600 NON K and its doing fine (iknow its a tad better).
if its not enough get an i7 7700(k) becayse the i7 8700k isnt compatible.

Your pc is not too old. 8700k have the "same" socket but it's not compatible now or maybe forever.
There are more power and grounds on lga1151-2(the one for 8700k) than lga1151 (your current)
