What is the best RAM that is compatible with my Motherboard?

Solution
you can also consider the following
* HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 C10 2x8GB HX318C10F
* Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1866 C9 2x8GB CMY16GX3M2A1866C9

the lower the CAS latency the better. so i guess the corsair is the best RAM you can put on that board.
whats your CPU btw? is it something like a AMD FX-9370? remember the specs mentioned a limitation to your RAM depending on the type of CPU u have.

ppl nowadays dont know how to properly google smh. here u go man. if what you meant by "best" is highest freq/latency without worrying if it is compatible/tested with your board you may download and view this list.
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM3+/SABERTOOTH_990FX_R2.0/Sabertooth_990FX_R20-Memory-QVL.pdf?_ga=2.261035336.493672759.1516098506-32778352.1516098506

4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
* Due to OS limitation, when installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Install a 64-bit Windows® OS when you want to install 4GB or more memory on the motherboard.
* Due to CPU spec., AMD 100 series CPUs support up to DDR3 1066MHz. With ASUS design, this motherboard can support up to DDR3 1333MHz.

as long as you meet the requirements mentioend above in italics then you should be fine. you are not restricted to the list from asus and you may try your chances with other brands matching the specs.

Guess was my very open ended question...

i was wondering if anyone had gone beyond the recommended RAM and had success at maybe DDR4 or possibly something different to see if i had more options available.

Considering as a RAM Upgrade this: G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-1866C10D-16GAB

im still not sure what you are really looking for. no you cant put a ddr4 on a ddr3. they are both physically different for one and 48 pins extra on the former. and you cant clock more than the max memory speed specified on a non-overclockable board. so you can use a DDR3 2400 but it will clock down to the highest memory speed of 1600 for example.
