Hey guys! So I am about to get a new processor, mine is old and can no longer support the games I play. I play the Sims 2, 3 and 4. And Black Desert Online. Will be interested in more games once I get the processor. I am planning on starting a YouTube channel as well.

My motherboard is Intel DH61ww.
Graphics is PNY GeForce 1050ti (I think)
I have 4gb ddr3 ram.
Current processor is Intel Pentium G620 @ 2.60ghz.
Windows 7 64bit.
I upgraded my power supply recently but can not remember what it is... Good enough to support my graphics I know.

If you need more info ask and I'll find it.

Obviously I don't want to spend more money for a processor that will provide the same performance that I need as a cheaper one. I will be shopping online, the site doesn't matter. Cheapest wins my purchase haha. I am willing to go up to 300 but if I can keep around or under 200 then I can also get more ram. Basically I am looking for the best processor for my money.

Please let me know your suggestions, CPUs utterly confuse me.

Thanks!

In that case an i5 or even i7 will give you good performance not only for playing games but also in rendering if you do a lot of editing. The Ryzen are also an option to consider but since you don't want to change MoBo I guess this is out of equations.

However, as jaslion said your best bet and price/performance ratio should be definitely try and upgrade these three components (CPU, MoBo, RAM)

At pentium price no other than 4560 or 4600 :) its best power/price ratio.
about youtube you might want to get a bit stronger setup, have a look on Ryzen 1400 -- Ryzen 1600. Those 2 will cut video render times in half at least.

Is that compatible withy mother board? I was able to find this list and it isn't on it...

Edit* Oh I see Victor suggested a different motherboard as well. I would rather not get a new MoBo because I really do not want to reinstall Windows (I do not have disc. PC was given to me by a friend) and my games. They are not discs they are through origin and my internet is unfortunately very slow because I live in the middle of nowhere. So redoing all of that would take a lot of time, more time than I am willing to spend ATM.

Well the cpu's you can get are really old for that board and not that great of an idea. You can get a i7 2600 and get another 4gb of ram (8gb is a must anything less is asking for trouble) which is a good upgrade but not the best way to spend the money.

I will use the PC to edit videos taken externally, I don't plan on using a software to record from my PC but that might change. To clarify the YouTube channel is something my kids want to do and they play on the PlayStation. I wasn't going to try and go all fancy with YouTube. Just edit videos taken by my phone so they can be YouTubers haha.

I have two HDD, one is a 3tb slave storage. RPM 7200. (ST3000DM001-1CH166) I keep all my music, pictures and games on it. The one I keep my OS on and most programs is only a 250GB at 5400 RPM. (ST9250315AS)
