Just built my first pc of i7 8700k and nzxt kraken x62 AIO (Using the provided thermal paste) .I haven't overclocked my cpu as i can't due to high temps and i would like to. When playing assassins creed origins 1080p ultra v sync on my temps hit high 70s to low 80s, i get a warning on cam software telling me this is too high and it will damage my cpu. Is this normal for the 8700k with the mentioned setup?

Thanks in advanced

well probably but u will have to delid and go water cooling. 4,3 is fine on 6 cores. whats ur voltage when u are ingames? dont turn MCE on again, it gives to cpu way way too much voltage.

i generally dont like AIO coolers, but those temps sound fine for stock 8700k i guess. if u oc it, not sure u will be able to hold that cpu under 70c. i have assassins creed but still didnt play it, so cant tell u my experience with temps.

i have 8700k oc to 4,8ghz. 1.23v on aida stress test my cpu hits 65c. max peak is 70. but its 99% of time on 60-65 range.

what mobo do u have? if its asus go in bios and disable multicore enhancment, its basicly auto overclock but it apply way way too much voltage for the clocks it overclock to, so in result you have high temps. with that setting off, ur cpu will be on its intel stock clocks, aka 4,3 ghz on 6 cores at the same time.

that thing should be off by default cause it brings nothing but high temps and users dont know why and think their cpu is not working properly.

I do have an asus mobo and after some testing with your solution on assassins creed I hit an average of 62 degrees and 70 degrees max. Is that more normal? I noticed that it only runs as 4.3 ghz could I boost that to 5ghz + with a manual overclock?
