Hey Community,

Just another newbie looking for upgrading advice and suggestions for a 6-7 year old custom pc. Looking to do general web browsing and would like to game with max settings for most current titles. I know CPU is dated and obviously motherboard and RAM required. Like to keep my Video Card, so any suggestions on settings along with upgrades are always welcome. Here is what I have going on:

-AMD Phenom II x4 960T 3.0 GHz socket AM3
-BIOStar A880G+ Micro ATX AMD motherboard
-Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4) 240 pin
-Raidmax Hybrid 2 630W power supply
-MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI express 3.0
-Seagate Barracuda 1TB hard drive
-Mid-size Case (antec 300 Illusion)

Please be honest. I value your opinions and consider all suggestions.

Thanks,

I am currently using 10, but it was a free upgrade from my original operating system. Conflict?

The Raidmax Hybrid PSU's aren't exactly good but I guess if it's working for you then keep it.

Anyway, link OS to your MS account and install win 10 here:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
create a usb install media,
try activating.

I suppose if I cannot activate after new install then will just have to buy windows 10? I have read that I am better off starting clean in regards of operating system, do you have any thoughts on this? (Personal experience)

It's just the quality of the PSU isn't very good, cheap components in the PSU can risk your other parts especially under high loads (gaming).
