Hello I recently bought my new computer https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QCKxD8 all I do on it is gaming and my main game is CSGO. When I first bought my computer the performance was very good, averaging about 400fps on medium settings. But just recently this suddenly change. I went from this very good performance to awful fps and performance (for the specs i have) for example may game just feels laggy and choppy and fps has taken a massive decrease.

What I may think the problem is, is that when I got my new computer, I used the old SSD from my old computer with windows already installed, and I have looked around and seen that you should not do this. Could this have caused the drops in performance? And if I reinstall windows will it improve, or is it to late? Furthermore I have tried many other shorter methods to try to help the situation but none of them have help in any way, like reinstalling video drivers and reinstalling CSGO itself.

I am starting to get worried as I spent alot of money on this computer and I am worried if it is dying.

Any help, suggestions or theories are greatly appriciated, Thankyou:)

Plus when you say slow, do you mean 300fps? :) yep SDD is full as said above. I think the recommended is to keep between 15 - 20% of your SDD free. Going below this slows the SSD down and significantly shortens it lifespan; as i believe the SSD has to continually re-arrange all your data on the drive, unlike a traditional HDD when it gets full.

Unless load times bother you get a standard HDD. Once loaded HDD performance does not affect FPS.

TIP: if your monitor can not display 400 FPS (No monitor can - i think 240hz is the highest at the moment) there is no point running your games at that frame rate, unless your 0.1% lows are below your screens refresh rate. Which it shouldn't at 400FPS. Better to run more detail than FPS.

My fps was on about a constant 500-600 and now im on about 70, it literally happened over night. Ive ordered a new samsung 960 evo 250gb ssd for a clean instal of windows, do u think this will help?

For a clean install I would 1st simply format your existing drive (back up any data you need!). If FPS is back to normal no need for the new SSD, Return it and get a HDD for your storage needs if it fits in your case. If your existing drive is still slow, then its F*cked!

Plus i think windows 10 now allows you to have more than one clean install if it is linked to a hotmail account (PLEASE CHECK THIS) I purchased Windows 10 online with my hotmail account linked, and I've install it 3 times on 2 different machines and it didn't ask me to buy a new key.
