I don't know about windows, but, in Linux, either Linux mint or Ubuntu, it offers me the use of 2 monitors with the built in video card, and, the same with an added sound card.
And that looks to me like it is possible to use at least FOUR monitors.
That is just one of the things I love about Linux nowadays.
I wasgifted a new Toshiba satellite laptop, and it came with windoze 8.1 installed.
I totally dislike windoze 8 anything, So I saved it so I could reinstall it if i desired.
I then installed Linux Mint, and Linux found and used all features of the laptop.
No hunting for drivers s it found and installed needed drivers.
To install windows 7, or 10, I'd need to get the drivers from Toshiba. and one person pointed out that Toshiba wanted more than $50.00 to get the neeed utilities for 7.
As I said, Linux can use more than one monitor, and you can switch between them.
Maybe this won't hlp windows users, but it can help linux users.
Maybe not all versions of Linux, but many of the recent and current versions...
