Hello, I just self built a new computer here are the specs. The motherboard had smoked out on the first launch at/ near the SATA ports. I am really worried and literally crying because I am so scared of what could happen. Please help I couldn't find any burnt marks on the board either
MOBO: Asus z370-g ROG mobo
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300) Desktop Memory Model CMK16GX4M2A2666C16W
cpu: i7 8700
power supply: Corsair 450W 80+ gold
SSD: Samsung 850 pro
Graphics: MSI GTX 1060

P.S. I launched the computer for the first time w/o the graphics card and also without any windows install discs.

Thanks

Why though? It smoked, and I didn't have the card in the first time I launched. What if it ruins the CPU and ram if it inst already.

OK, I get it. You're paralyzed. There are no guarantees. At this point your choices are to troubleshoot it yourself, or take it to a repair shop.

Any damage to any components already installed is done. That's why I don't want you to plug your discreet GPU or the SSD into the build. But sitting and staring at it isn't going to fix anything, either. You do not need an OS (or even a HDD/SDD) to boot into BIOS. It sounds like you already have the RAM installed. So go ahead and plug your monitor into the motherboard video-out plug, and turn the computer on. It should go into BIOS. If it doesn't, well, let's try this first.

Ok thank you. I will try to do it in about an hour when I cool off and stop panicking. Thank you for the advice
