Hi everyone,

Would like an Intel build, budget is around 3k, mostly for heavy video editing. What would you guys recommend? Please include links/prices if possible. Also, what video editing software would you recommend? And what is your take on the Corsair Crystal Series 570X RBG tower (is this a practical case)?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Something I would consider the 250GB SSD is for a scratch drive only.
With this case it should be very quiet. You can add more storage as needed.

Small SSD is for OS, gaming and software caching
large NVME SSD is for material only
Premiere pro is popular choice.

Not sure a 1080ti is really needed here. Even this 1070 is probably overkill. You are going to get a bigger benefit from having more cores/threads, I believe.

8700k can do pretty well and the extra cost to get x299 has limited upside. Agree with above, ideally I will get this threadripper for heavy video editing:

X399 is newer, runs cooler, more pci lanes and has better upgrade path

Pick your editing program first this will determin if you need a expensive video card if it supports GPU acceleration to help rendering.
I would also ask the resolution of the video your editing 4K requires a lot of mussel 1080p a lot less also what the size files your editing also matters.
The other thing would be if your making money doing this where time matters more.
The case all comes down to the looks you like and how much noise you can stand while working.

I'll be using Premiere Pro and After Effects CS6.
Was thinking of shooting in 1280x720, but would like it to support 4K in case I start shooting in that resolution.
Size files will obviously vary, but I want to stay around 50-100mb range.
The goal is to make money and yes, time, will definitely matter.
Would like minimal to no noise at all if possible.

I know you said Intel, but I am going to suggest Threadripper anyway. Less power/heat, and more cores and threads to work with.

If you would prefer a Quadro, which I am not entirely sure is necessary as Cuda core count, this.
