New cpu/mobo/ram or stick it out for now?

I currently have an A10 6700, 1050ti, and 12 gb ddr3 ram.
I have an fm2+ socket I believe and the mobo is a 2ae0. I don't get great results but can play games like PUBG, overwatch, total war warhammer 2 and divinity orginal sin 2 but some of them are cpu intensive and I see drastic drops in fps. I don't really have the money for a complete overhaul for a new mobo, cpu, ram, and OS and probably won't for a while (though i'm interested in the G4560 or ryzen 3 1300x for the future)

Are there any fm2+ cpu improvements I can make for the short-term that would grant me more processing power for gaming over my A10-6700? I know the athalon x4 series is an option and while it's more expensive than current, better cpus I'm just wondering if any would be worth an upgrade for the short-term so I can play these games a little more smoothly. Thank you and sorry for the long post!

As far as I know the fm2 socket is more for low end stuff so id suggest a new cpu mobo and ram. There will be little point in upgrading since soon you will need to upgrade again.

I advise you stick to your stuff for the moment and save for a ryzen 5 1600 build as this should last you at least 3 years.

FM2 was a dead end when it came out, best you can ever get is 2013 Core I3 equivilent performance.

Best you can do is save for new platform.

If doing gaming and other workloads then the Ryzen 1600 or 1700 is a good choice.
For strictly gaming, an 8th gen i5 will give you better all-around performance.

thanks for the replies everyone the reason I ask mainly is because i found a decent deal on amazon

https://www.amazon.com/Athlon-Thermal-Solution-Socket-AD870KXBJCSBX/dp/B01BIWL1MY/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1516216842&sr=1-5&keywords=amd+athlon+x4

if this even gives me a moderate boost for the short-term I feel like it's worth the quick 70 bucks and I can sell both my a10 6700 and this for meager pocket change when I do fully upgrade but my ideal makeover would take me until summer most likely.

and it would allow me to overclock as the a10 6700 is a hassle to overclock, if possible at all.

It's barely faster and I doubt you'll see a difference in gaming.

Look around for a used Haswell/Devil's Canyon (1150 socket) i5 with a motherboard as you can reuse your current RAM and I'm sure it'll game better then your current setup.

4690 vs your APU.

I'd look for a Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge i5, not i3, based pre-built system. A Dell Optiplex 790 mini tower, for example. You can transfer over pretty much everything you have, except the motherboard and APU of course. It'll outperform your current system in those games.

Downsides/things to be aware of: You'll need to use the pre-built's case, since they usually use special front panel connectors and whatnot. It MUST be a mini tower, since you'll be bringing over your power supply and videocard, it can't be a SFF case. It has to be a pre-built whose motherboard uses the standard power connectors, the 4/8 pin and 20/24 pin ones. That's so you can use your own power supply. Even if the case is standard, if the motherboard connectors aren't standard then you'll be stuck using the stock power supply. I know the Dell Optiplex 390/790/7010 mini towers all fit this profile. I'd suggest the 790 or 7010 since they have 4 memory slots, giving you more flexibility in which memory sticks you can use.

Upside is these computers can be had cheap, and you can use almost everything you already have, especially the memory. Look into how to reactivate Windows after changing computer components, so the pre-built you buy doesn't even have to include an OS.

A new system would be best but right now is an expensive time to build one. There is no upgrade path for your current setup, at least not one that's worth it.

Thanks everyone I really appreciate the advice. I figured it was dead tech but I was hoping against hope lol....and dontlistentome that is an awesome suggestion it's ideal for what I want.

is the one I've picked online and seems to be everything I would need. Although I'm not sure how to check to see the mobo it uses as I can't find it online and I'm not sure what power connectors are used. I will be saving up for this for probably a month so if anyone has recommendations for that price point of $270 that would be better or an alternative I should consider I will be checking this regularly until I purchase.
