Top cables are usb2, then usb3 and hdaudio then the front panel connectors, BUT I cant identify this last 3 pin molex connector?! What does it do? It hooks into the small board on my tower.... there are 3 seperate 4pin molex for my case fans... is it for my case fans as an alernative? I am stumped

Thanks in advance!

I don't think it matters at all the more I think about it. I'm guessing that even if you plug into your motherboard fan header, the fan speed will still be controlled by the fan controller switches.

I guess in the end my preference would be whichever leads to better cable management. For example, if there is already a PSU molex connector in the area from hooking something else up, then just use that. There's nothing sexier than good cable management.
Looks like a fan controller to me. If it is, you just plug the molex connector to a PSU molex jack, and then the fan header from the controller goes into a chassis fan header on your motherboard. Then you can connect your case fans to the fan hub.

Edit: Yep. Senior moderators are faster than moderators. Rawr.

Good thing you saw that. It looks like you don't do what this moderator said! I've never come across that before.

You plug your fans into the controller, then to power the fans you EITHER connect the molex to the PSU, in which case the fans will run at the speed you select on the switches, I assume, OR you connect the fan header to your motherboard, in which case it hopefully increases/decreases fan speed based on temps.
