Hello,

I builded a new computer and got everything to work for 4k at 60hz and guess what? It only works at 30hz. I installed all the latest drivers. The HDMI cable I use is 2.0b. The graphic card has one HDMI 2.0b port. My monitor has 2 X HDMI ports + 1 Display port. I tried both HDMI ports. I tried a DP cable to my motherboard and I get 60hz. There is no DP port to my graphic card.

Here is my build:

Can you please help me, I've been looking for hours on the net for answer without success... Thank you very much!

Manufacturer says your GT 1030 supports 60Hz. It also says, " Advertised performance is based on maximum theoretical interface values from respective Chipset vendors or organization who defined the interface specification. Actual performance may vary by system configuration."

Seems odd though. Super sweet build, except the graphics card...

What is it you're doing that you want 4K 60Hz from a GT 1030?

Do you not plan on playing any games? My computer is completely silent and i have the same cpu as you, 4 120mm fans in the case, 1 120mm cpu mounted fan, and a 1070ti with 3 fans and I hear nothing, even while gaming 1440p 144hz

I'm not a gamer, but I bought the computer mostly to use it for at least 10 years and be able to use 4k at 60hz.

Now that I can only get 30hz, I'd like to know what's the problem there. :(

What this guy said, just hookup to your motherboards display port, snce you wont be gaming you really didnt need a dedicated gpu.

Last Nov, I bought a 40-in 4K Samsung TV at Costco, and an ASUS GT1030 fanless (fans on video cards degrade & get noisy). I wanted more screen real estate (but I do not play action games). It was a bitch getting it to work; my notes span three days. The final step that made it work was to switch to the HDMI2 port on the TV. Check where you plugged both ends of your cable, and make sure you have installed the latest driver.

(For me, 40-in proved to be too big, took it back. Then I tried Samsung 4K monitor from Costco, splotchy, darker artifacts were distracting, took it back. I'm very happy with the LG27UD58-B, an IPS display that I snagged at Microcenter. I run it at 1440P, but have occasionally switched to 4K briefly, to view more stuff. A 27-inch display is too small for old eyes at 4K.)
