Wondering if anyone can help me with choosing a headset

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help me with choosing a headset, I play many open world games but I also play many fps games, I also talk a lot on skype,discord and teamspeak etc.

So far I have found:

Because as we know newer and more expensive doesn't always mean that it is better, I'm also open to other suggestions but please keep it sensible, I'm not looking to get a pair of Sennheister HD 820's.

Also if you have a suggestion can you make sure that the headset has a mic attached to it because I know I could get a mic on a stand but knowing my luck I'll end up braking it.

Closed sets are better at keeping outside noise out, so if you have some background noise you are trying to keep iout go with closed. Open back will let outside sounds in but tend to have better soundstage. Soundstage will help in games by giving you a better idea of how far away a sound is and in what direction. I personally prefer open back headphones for gaming.

I think the Sennheiser Game One is the best "gaming" headset you can buy. But they are a bit pricey. A pair of studio headphones with a mod mic is another option. I use a pair of HD558s with a mod mic.

good thing you did mention u dont wanna a sennheisser coz that one has got one of the best mic and sounds. if not the best. if it werent for the price.
what is the max you can spend anwys for a gaming headset? do you prefer open/closed headsets?
the cheapest but good ones i can recommend are from Turtlebeach. the popular ones is the HyperX cloud alpha, Logitech G430, SteelSeries Artis, Sennheiser PC series.

My budget is around £70-£80 I wouldn't mind going a bit higher if its for a good reason or like added extras, and I'm not saying I don't want a pair of Sennheisers but what I meant is that I'm not looking to spend a small fortune on a headset

And I don't really know about closed/open headsets but I would say I prefer closed

At the moment I'm not looking at getting "the best", I'm looking for a decent replacement in the £70-£80 range that has a mic attached, at the moment I'm thinking about of pair of these.

I would take the hyper x clouds over those. I really dislike surround headphones. But up to you audio is very subjective.

I prefer surround sound as they are better for hearing peoples footsteps etc.
