Previously I was having issues getting my computer to POST. See my previous post here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3593709/post-boot-beeps-display-bios.html

Since then I have taken it to a local PC shop who did a diagnostic and told me it was the motherboard that was the issue. I have bought a new one, installed it and everything and I'm still having the same issue.

I've installed a system speaker and hear nothing.

One thing that may be causing it - when I put the build into PCPartPicker I was told that the BIOS on my motherboard may be out of date with my CPU. However I took the risk that it would be up to date based on the seller I got it from.

I'm completely lost and have absolutely no idea how to proceed. Return the motherboard?

Solution
1) What MB did you get?

2) Try remove all the RAM, SSD/HDD, the R9 280 too, using onboard iGPU, then clear the COMS ( need to unplug the power core from the outlet), After that boot the PC, what happens? If the PC does not boot, assumed the PC shop did test the CPU, that means the used MB may have problem. If the PC can boot, then add the RAM, boot device, HDD, r9 280 back into the PC one by one, keep in mind you need to shut down the PC, before you add each component.

I've absolutely no idea what I did then to get it working. Somehow doing everything you said, I managed to get it working after I plugged the RAM back in. It was still working as I plugged everything else back in. Nothing seems to be broken.

I'm baffled over what was causing the problem now.
