I7 for gaming ?

I am building a new pc using intel for the first time i was wondering if the i7 7700k would be the better option as i only heavy game. I dont stream or publish youtube videos. Would it be best for me to go with the 7700k or spend more for the coffee lake ?

Building new, a I5-8600K will outperform a I7-7700K in games.
A I7-8700K costs some $130 more, but will not be a significantly better performer in games.
Better to spend the $130 on a stronger graphics card if you are budget constrained.
