Hi
I’ve switched off my computer and plugged a second SATA on motherboard SATA01 as my master HDD is on SATA00 The second SATA has windows installed as well, but I thought that my own HDD will upload as the master drive. As I want to clear the second HDD.

Starting up computer it started as Windows is loading files. Nothing happened so I switched off again and disconnected the second HDD.

Switching on again is starts again with Windows loading files and then few minutes later gives an error message Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.

What did I do wrong. I’ve switched off unplugged and replugged but no luck.
Thank you

Even better :)

Silly me... This is posted in the Windows 7 forums...

Do you have your Windows 7 install DVD, a Thumb drive with your Windows installation or a Rescue/Repair disk?
Boot off any of those and you can run "Windows Start up Repair"

Here's a couple of examples...
