I have a 960 PRO 512gb and I want to transfer only my os to the new ssd from my old HDD. Is there anyway for me to use Samsung Data Migration to only transfer my OS? Or is there something else I could use?

Solution

If you can reduce that current used space on the HDD to below 400GB, you can migrate everything over to the SSD.
Of course, this will delete anything currently existing on the SSD.

You cannot just pull an OS from one drive and put it onto another while keeping your files and programs in place.

The solution is to back up your files and either clone your drive or do a fresh install of your OS. Once the OS is installed you can replace your files from the backup you created.

You can't transfer "only my os". Doesn't work like that.

How much total space is consumed on your current drive, and what exactly does that consist of?
What OS is this?
Desktop or Laptop?

At this time 482Gb is being used on my HDD and my SSD has 476.81 free. The OS is windows and it's a desktop.
