This is my first computer build and everything is working great except the memory I have installed is bench marking below what it should on the website. Anybody have any ideas on what to check? I have them in the A1 & B1 slots for dual channel memory mode. Only thing I did in the UEFI was overclock the cpu.

Asrock Taichi X99 Motherboard
i7-6950x overclocked to 4.2ghz
Samsung 960 Evo 1tb
Nvidia GTX 1060-3GB
G.SKILL Ripjaws V DDR4 2133 C15 2x16GB

Solution
Your ram is benchmarking low because you are only using 1/2 the available memory channels your CPU has. The X99 motherboard is designed for four matched DIMMs. You only have 2. You should have gotten an 8GB x 4 kit rather than the 16GB x 2.

I had no idea about the 4 channel ram on an X99 motherboard. How much better is it to run 4 channel vs 2?

I have 8 slots and If I were to buy a 16GB x 4 kit. Which slots should they be in? I have:

A1
A2
B1
B2
C1
C2
D1
D2

If I decide to max out the memory does it make a difference if I buy a 4x16 or 8x16?
