Hi,

I have a question about adding padding to a HDD in a new enclosure, where it is rattling about whenever it is moved, due to no padding (guess the enclosure was a bit too cheap). Could it be wrapped in alu foil in there, or some other everyday objects? What would you recommend? It is a 2.5 SATA HDD in an aluminum enclosure.
Cheers,
Anders

Solution
just get like 3=5 layers of an old cotton shirt and stick a small hole thru it. cut a square off. then screw it in between. cut edges off with a cutter. :D
or if u got 3mm thick double sided tapes

use pencil eraser, cut it so it will fill the gap.

I ended up cutting up an old cotton sock, wrapping a slice of it around the bottom so that it is padding the sides. Should I be worried about static or anything? Anyway, it boots and seems to work for now. But I'm thinking heat might be an issue though. The solution is inspired by marksavio's answer with a cotton shirt :)
