If you're in a dark room it won't make much of a difference. If you have lights are windows open all the time, they'll reflect on the monitor. That'll just make it harder to see what's on the screen. Also, if you have an LED keyboard, those usually reflect on the monitor as well which gets annoying quickly.

Glossy looks nicer, but is usually not as good.

Also, there's literally a forum called "Displays". Post there.
