Hello everyone,

Due to my router being a little far from my room, I decided to use an ethernet cable in order not to have any kind of lag in online games. But the problem occurs here. I turn on my laptop, use it a little bit, then my ethernet connection goes off. I either have to restart my computer or disable, then enable the ethernet from network adapters. It is probably due to my ethernet port being broken (though I literally never used it at all in the last 5 years). I want to try to uninstall my drivers and re-install them but I could not find any drivers for Win10.

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_16B5&SUBSYS_06471025&REV_10

My laptop model:

Packard Bell TE11HC

Specs if needed:

GT620M
8GB DDR3 RAM
i5 3210M
SSD&HDD
Win 10 64 Bit. Up to date.

When you go to device manager, right click your adapter, select properties, and go to the driver tab ... who is the driver provider? I'm going to guess Microsoft. Some companies didn't write Windows 10 drivers for their older NICs so you get to use the default driver. The default driver works fine, but you don't get updates or find downloads.

You can reinstall your driver through network reset in Windows 10.
In Windows search, type "Network Status". Open that. At the bottom of the list you will see network reset.

Yes, driver provider is Microsoft. I also think I've found a solution but its not exactly a solution.

If I use these duplex settings my ethernet works just fine (or has been working fine for the last 20ish hours) but my speed is limited to 7mbps over cable. I am gonna try the network reset thingy and let you know.

So it's not a driver issue. It sounds more like a hardware fault ... I never asked, did you try another cable?

If it's not the cable and really is the port then there is not much you can do. I have read about USB to Ethernet, but I understand they suck for gaming (lag).

If 10 Mbps half duplex works, then I am bit surprised that 100 Mbps half duplex doesn't.

Yes I tried another cable. (I actually bought a new 20 meter cable because of the distance between my room and the router tho idk if its cat5 or cat6). Its been okay with 10 half duplex. But sucks to not be able to benefit from 50 mbps internet :/.
