Bought a used pc last night thinking everything worked like it should, reinstalled windows 10 everything worked smoothly, installed league of legends(pretty much all i play on pc anyway) played a game and my fps was sitting around 150 but would dip into the 15-20s when i got into ever a small fight. did a lot of scanning-fixing with advanced system care and decided to download some old games through steam to see how they ran, mass effect 2,bioshock infanint, trials HD.. as soon as i launched any of them the computer screen went black and the computer rebooted. I am however now able to play League with the FPS around 200 dipping to 75-80 so no lag anymore there but that seems like the only game thats working right now

Specs are:
Windows 10 Pro
Intel i3-4170 @3.70 CPU
MSI Z87 mpower Mobo
Radeon R7 200 series ghost edition GPU
PNY 8GB memory

I ran prime95 and the computer reboots after 10-15 min around the third test, Ran furmark and the GPU passes every test ive done so far, Ive switched out ram and I still get a reboot everytime I try and play anything... So I'm guessing my CPU is going bad? any other suggestions on what I can/should try before finding another CPU?

Solution
before assuming your CPU is gong bad, I would look if either the cpu or the gpu might be overheating, since your symptons seems to lead that way (other possibility would be the PSu but later to be checked)

I would start by downloading HWINFO, and let it run in the back ground., run it in sensor mode when asked, and enable logging , as you oc reboots, loggin gpermits to review temperatures that you got in the MAX column, check cpu and gpu temps at idle, what are they, run a game, and then when you feel fps is dropping quit the game and look at the cpu/gpu max temps your gettings, if either is going over 85C your having a thermal shutdown (to protect cpu/gpu) let me know if this is the case with your reported temps for cpu/gpu, it may...

HWINFO can be downloaded from https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

Im not exactly sure on what Im looking for on this app but ill do my best at posting what i see, and the power supply i have is a HEC 550TB power supply

GPU Idle is 31c(i was running it at 80c while testing without any issues)

CPU core #0 (33C)
CPU core #1 (30C)
CPU core #0 Distance to TjMAX (67C)
CPU core #1 Distance to TjMAX (70C)
CPU Package (35C)
CPU Max (33C)
Not ever sure if these are the right numbers but this is all while at idle

I was able to run bioshock in the background in windowed mode without it crashing the computer temps where all between 55-60c while doing that but as soon as i clicked into the game the screen went black the computer started running hard then it rebooted

Your temps are good which leads us to the potential you have a faulty/poor PSU. When under heavy load, like gaming, weak/poor/faulty PSUs will crash. If you have another PSU laying around you could try it if you don't you may need to purchase a new one. I suggest only using a tier 1 or tier 2 PSU. listed below is a PSU tier list. Use it!!!

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html <--- you PSU is listed as tier 5

You have a tier 5 PSU, which is a danger to you and your computer and should be replaced immediately. Never use anything but tier 1 or 2 supplies. Anything less is a fire hazard and a great way to fry your PC.

Alright, I took the PSU out of one of my old computer and put it in this its a corsair CX600 I know this PSU works as i was using it to play games without issues not that long ago. I also put the HEC power supply in the older computer and its working fine, So, Im still getting a reboot when games launch off the desktop. Now it seems the computer is also randomly rebooting and while browsing facebook the entire screen went white and I had to hard reset to do anything. Going to put a different GPU in and see if that fixes it. I'm getting lots of people saying its over heating but ive set the fans to speed up and to keep the system 50C or lower so im not sure if as soon as i start a game something is causing a crazy spike of heat or what.

I know this is an old thread but I did figure out the problem to that issue, it ended up being a corrupt hard drive, a trip to walmart and a 250Gb ssd fixed the issue lol
