Hello. My PC gets terrible download speeds ranging from 50-300kb/s. I game a lot but can never play online because my ping literally hits 9000. My Xbox gets over 100mb/s so I know its my PC.

I would like a PCI or whatever adapter can go inside my PC so I don’t have an awkward stick off the side of my PC lol.

I do want to get a good quality one so I don’t really have a budget, just something that can utilize my internet speed instead of 9k ping. I guess I learnt my lesson from buying a $10 WiFi USB adapter :p

Thanks to anyone who can help me!

Before we talk about what is the best WiFi adapter. Please tell us about your computer. For example. We need to know the processor, the amount of memory you have, what OS are you using. Do you have any other problems with this computer? How far away from your WiFi router is the computer? Is the computer on the same floor as your router or is it on another level? Where is your XBox located in relation to the router? Is the XBox wired with Ethernet or does it use WiFi?

I assume you have a mobile phone. Grab one of those apps that measures the wi-fi signal strength. Use it by your computer's USB wifi dongle. Is there good signal strength there?

Next, I've had good results with pci-ex wi-fi cards that use two antennas. I wouldn't bother with anything that only uses one antenna.
