Notebook won't start.

So I had a Asus k52JR notebook (10 y.o.), but I got a new pc so I gave it to my dad. today he couldn't start it. It doesn't do anything, wont even light up. Only thing that it does is the charger contol light. I have some decent experience troubleshooting computers from past, but this one is just too hard to troubleshoot on my own. Maybe its just Dead and won't work because it has some kind of CPU/mobo problem.
It doesn't matter too much but if there would by some kind of advice from you on what could it be, I would be happy, ut as said If its dead I am okay with it.

have you tried remving the battery. and attach your adapter. and if it turns on. then its your battery need replacing. if it doesnt turn on. then maybe your adapter needs replacing.
you can also try the 30sec power button hold trick. remove both battery and adapter. hold power button. plug only the adpater. then try to power on.

omg YES thank you I have tried removing and putting the battery back but it didnt do It but then I tried running only on adapter and it worked thanks so much, I have just added this method to my mind's list of how to troubleshoot! thansk so much
