Cpu overclocking help needed

Hello Ive got an i7 7700k. I see it is running between 1-2 ghz when I have like google chrome open.
I'd like for it to max out it's potential or at least make it go faster because it doesn't feel so smooth.
Ive read on the internet about but I couldn't find any answer that specifies it with my specs.

Specs:
CPU: i7 7700k
Motherboard: Asus prime h110m-p
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 1050
RAM: 2x4 x2 (two 8gb ram) don't know wether or not it is ddr3 or 4, I assume 4

How much should I overclock - can I overclock? Anything I need to know? Thanks

No need to OC for those jobs, it will automatically run at frequency that is required of it by a program and only at full usage will hit highest frequencies.

Yes! but that's it, it doesn't feel smooth so I would like to add more speed so it runs what it needs to run smooth.

You'd need better MB (maybe even a better CPU cooler) for that, H and B motherboards are practically not overclockable.
Normally when you buy a K processor you also should get a Z motherboard.

Yes that one would work although you can get cheaper Z270 if you don't need all those bells and whistles.
