Hi there
I've planned to buy a new laptop this month and I found a good HP laptop
specs :
HP CD099nia
CPU: AMD Bristol Ridge A12-9720P
Ram: 16GB DDR4
VGA: AMD Radeon R5 M530 (4GB)
and a 5400rpm 1TB HDD
I just want to ask if a 5400Rpm hdd with these specs are reliable ?
Thanks

The reliability of the hard drive depends on the manufacturer. Western Digital is the only one I trust. This system is no doubt using a lesser hard drive from Toshiba or possibility Seagate.

Also, don't waste your money on HP or Acer or even Dell. When buying a laptop the best option is a Lenovo or an Asus. They are always at the top of the Customer Service and Reliability lists. Also they usually come with a lot less bloatware. You will pay more but you get what you pay for.

Finally, If you can afford it go with an laptop with an SSD. A laptop with an SSD and 4 GB of RAM will be a lot faster than a standard hard drive and 16 GB of RAM. In addition to being a lot faster an SSD is also much more reliable than a standard hard...

No less reliable.

Slower, but slightly less battery use.

What is its OS? From my personal experience 5400 RPM on windows 10 is very very slow, and I was really glad when I upgraded to a 7200 RPM one as it was much faster.
