Used to get 500fps in minecraft, now im getting 70fps.

When I first got my gaming computer a year ago, I was getting 500fps in single-player Minecraft. Now I'm getting 70. I'm very new here so I don't know what information I need to give you guys. Please help!

CPU: i5 4670K
RAM: 16 MB
GPU: GTX 960
OS: Windows 10 home

Well your PC is good enough to handle Minecraft and other modern games.

Try reinstalling Java and your Video Drivers.

If your PC is trashed with files, consider reinstalling windows.

Check your temps while gaming, maybe the PC got too dusty over time and overheats.

Is it affecting other games? Or is just minecraft not smooth compared to back then?
