Help! Display goes nuts after returning from SLEEP mode

I have built a new machine with all the drivers installed properly but whenever this machine goes to sleep and returns back, the display goes nuts as shown in the image below. Please help!! I have tried to move the mouse, press keyboard buttons, replug the cables but nothing happens unless I shut power off and start the PC again. It's a small mini itx system.

i had a similiar issue, of mine coming back from sleep to a black screen -
i'd re-install al the mobo drivers related to display, intel management engine and chipset drivers

one trick that worked, but not permanently, shut computer down, turn off the switch at the PSU, hold PWR button in off position for 10+ second, then remove all your ram except for the stick in A1 slot, and reboot with that one stick. Let it idle for a few minutes, and then shut down, repeat the above and re-install all the ram.
