Hi guys,

Im having some trouble with my almost brand new PC (old GPU and SSD, soon to be upgraded). Ill start with my build.

HARDWARE:
CPU: Intel i7 8700k (NEW)
GPU: Radeon Sapphire R9 290x (USED)
MOBO: AsRock z370 Extreme4 (NEW)
SSD: Samsung 850 evo 120gb (USED)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8gb 2666mhz and a pair of 3200mhz (cause I thought this might have been the problem) (BOTH NEW)
PSU: Corsair RM750X (NEW)

SOFTWARE:
Windows 10 64bit
Newest Bios Update
All Mobo and GPU drivers

THE PROBLEM:
After a fresh install of windows, while browsing and installing the drivers the issue already occurs. Mouse cursor freezes for like 1/2s and if pressing a button on my keyboard at this very
moment it will be like thisssssssssssssssss. Both mouse and keyboard are working fine on other machines, tried with another keyboard and mouse and it still occurs. It seems to me like it is a RAM issue hence why i bought the 2666mhz pair, because somewhere on AsRock site i read about the 8th gen cpu compatibility goes upto 2666mhz. But the problem remains after i tried with
the 2666mhz in every possible combination in the RAM slots. I did memtest86 no errors, all the hardware is working correctly. Music keeps on playing normally while problem occurs.

QUESTION:
Is anyone else having the same issue? Or is there something wrong with the setup, compatibility of hardware or something else I forgot or missed during building the PC?

Thanks in advance.

hi all
has there been any update on this? I was having a similar issue that seems to be originating from asrock boards and memory issues. I essentially solved my issue by getting a different brand motherboard and wanted to see what anyone else has tried.
