Will my wireless network increase if I upgrade my router?

Hi all, it recently came to my attention that my current modem is not making use of my ISP's 100Mbps since I'm currently on an ARRIS TM502G. I am planning on upgrading my modem to maybe a ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 unless you guys have any suggestions.

For my router, I am currently using a Linksys WRT610N V1. I am wondering if my router is slowing down my speeds at all or would I need to upgrade that as well. Sorry for not being incredibly tech savvy, thank you for the responses!

The WRT610N is 2x2 802.11n, so in 20-MHz mode the chipset can't support more than 144.4 Mbps, and in real-world wifi usage, congestion from neighboring routers will reduce that to well below 100 Mbps. You should get at least a 2x2 802.11ac router, assuming your other devices are also 802.11ac-capable. The DIR-880L is a high power 3x3 802.11ac router that should cover even a large house reasonably well and let you use most of that 100 Mbps Internet you pay for.

The TM502G is capable of only 38 Mbps downstream, so any DOCSIS 3.0 modem would be an upgrade. Zoom 5370s have been more reliable in my experience, and support 16x4 D3 bonding profiles (supporting up to 300 Mbps from Spectrum in the US) vs. 8x4 with the SB6141. The 2-year...
