Hello Guys,

The following is my system configuration:

Processor: i3 6100 3.7 GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170-D3H
RAM: 16 GB (2 X 8 GB) Ripjaws 4 2400 MHZ
Monitor: Dell IN2030M 20'' (51cm) HD WLED Widescreen Monitor VGA & DVI-D (1600x900) Black
PSU: Antec VP 450p

I am planning to buy two components:
1. SSD
2. Graphics Card

My question is which Graphics Card & SSD, I must buy if I am planning to play games at 900p resolution.

I need a Graphics Card which will be capable of running all new & upcoming games (3-4 years span) at 900p with ultra/high settings and 30+ fps.

Also suggest me suitable SSD.

My budget is around 30k-35k INR. (Combined for Graphics Card and SSD)

Thanking in advance.

Is there a certain amount of space you want for your SSD? Have you thought about putting your operating system on an SSD and the rest of your files on an HDD? HDD are a far cheaper and if you have your Operating System on the SSD your computer generally still operates quite well.

In terms of a video card lasting you a while, I think the gtx 1060 can do that very well, although I believe that in a couple of years or even sooner your i3 may be a limiter. I would recommend the new i3 8350k if you have the money.

As far as SSD's go Samsung still does it the best.

Considering SSD, I am planning to buy Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB and I will use it as my Boot Drive with Rest of my files on HDD.

Regarding upgrading of processor, is it compatible with my existing motherboard?

And one more doubt,

Is this Graphics Card compatible with my PSU : Antec VP 450p

Yeah 450 is fine. The 1060 recommends that you have at least 400. 3Gbs for the 1060 is fine. You only need more VRAM when you're trying to use multiple monitors at high resolutions and at 144 hz. Since you're at 900p, 60hz you will be more than perfectly okay.

The i3 6100 and i3 8350k both have the same socket type so, yes it is compatible. The i3 8350k is also a quad core processor and is overclockable if the motherboard allows it. The 8350 will give you a ton of performance for how much it costs.

Now for the SSD, I would still recommend getting an additional 500 GB or higher HDD to go with it because 250GB is not a lot of space what so ever.

According to this thread, i3 8th Gen Processors are compatible with only Z370 or Higher motherboards.

There is no issue of HDD.
I am already having 1 x 1 TB HDD (Segate Barracuda 7200 .14), 1 x 500 GB WD HDD, 1 x 160 GB WD HDD

:)

Well I am not a pro gamer, all I need is that I can play all new & upcoming games @ 900p resolution with 30+ fps. on High/Ultra Settings. (for span of 2-3 years)

So if even GTX 1050 Ti 4GB could fulfill my requirements, recommend me that one.

Budget is tentative. I want to invest minimum on my existing system, as I am planning to fully upgrade my system soon.

Ah, I did not realize that, you have proved me wrong. I didn't realize Intel would do that, just like AMD did with AM3 and AM3+. You could still upgrade to one of the i5s of the 6000 series in the future.

V RAM really just has to do with how much throughtput a video card has. A 4K screen will demand more throughput and graphics processing than a 1080p or even 900p screen will. Having 2 screens adds more need for throughput.

I can tell you that I play PUBG, a demanding game on a 3GB 1060 card with a 1440p screen at 80fps.
