How can I tell if my GTX 970 is powered on?

Hi guys,

A brief summary - I recently put my MSI GTX 970 into another PC temporarily to help a friend. Since putting it back into my rig it will not display and the PC won't recognise it in any way. I am also dealing with the whole 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter' nonsense on top with my integrated graphics so not a fun time!

I have checked the MSI Board Explorer in BIOS and it shows the PCIE slot as empty (as it does with another card I've tried). I've also tried multiple slots with the same result.

The fans also do not spin on startup but I'm not sure if they do anyway? If someone could advise how I can tell for sure that would be great.

Other notes:
- Fully-seated correctly with power cables inserted all the way
- CMOS reset to no avail
- BIOS updated to no avail
- Drivers uninstalled / reinstalled to np avail

Thanks in advance. HB

Does it still work in the friends pc?
Also full specs please.

Unfortunately I do not have access to another PC right now so not too convenient.

I will post specs below but everything has been working perfectly since I built last July. It just appears something has happened during the temporary switch.

MSI Z270 Pro Carbon MS-7A63 mobo
Intel i7-7700k (not OC'd yet)
16GB DDR4 RAM
MSI GTX 970
Corsair Silver 700 Modular PSU (I think)
