I wanted to know if anyone here knows why when I added 16gb more of ram to total 32gb 4x8gb sticks. when I had 16gb my cinebench score was somewhat higher than before I added ram. I also did 3d mark and pc mark tests and they were also lower. anyone know why?

Solution
Adding more RAM than you need now is not future proofing. Nothing you can do now is future proofing, theres no such thing in the PC world.
The ideal way to ensure optimal performance as time goes on is to save the money for when you need the upgrade.

By the time you need 32GB of RAM, DDR4 may not be the standard any longer. Its similar to storage space, some people invest in massive HDDs when SSDs are (well, were) becoming cheaper.

true, well I have 10 days left to return the ram and get a refund. the 16gb cost me 210 dollars.
