pioneer vsx1017 remote not working

i got new furniture and disconnected my home theater and reassembled everything. ever since, the remote control has stopped working. i checked the ir beam on the remote and it is working.....what have i done wrong?

• Try replacing the batteries in the remote control
• Be sure to operate within 7 m (23 feet) and a 30º angle of the remote sensor on the front panel
• Check that there are no obstacles between the receiver and the remote control.
• Make sure that there is no fluorescent or other strong light shining on to the remote sensor.
• Check the connections of the CONTROL IN jack

thanks, but i too have an owners manual. i am looking for more advanced solutions.
