VERY Different FPS

Me and my friend are running the same game which is CSGO, we both have the same specs:

Mine:
- GTX 1060 6 GB.
- i5 7400
- One 8 GB Ram DDR4 Stick.
- 600 W PSU
- Asus B250G Strix Gaming MOBO.
- 1 TB HDD.

His:
- GTX 1060 6 GB.
- i5 4590.
- Two 4 GB DDR3 Sticks.
- 600 W PSU Same Brand.
- Asus Military Class MOBO.
- 1 TB HDD.
- 250 GB SSD

We both run CSGO in the same exact settings, he gets around 190 FPS and I get 120 FPS with some drops.

My temps seem to be very fine considering my graphics card is running at 55 degees max, and my CPU is running at around 40 degrees.

It would be great if anyone told me why...

Wait, are YOU getting the 120 or your friend. I was going to say it’s just older equipment, but this could be different.

And this is assuming your FPS is uncapped? If for some odd reason you capped it, turn it off or raise it.

What is your GPU and CPU utilization on both systems? That would help.

Here are a few differences, though I'm not 100% sure how much, if any, they contribute:

1 - His processor, while older, is a little faster. He has a 3.3GHz CPU, boost to 3.7. Yours is 3.0, boost to 3.5. A small difference, but it might have some impact.

2 - He has 2x4GB RAM, you have a single 8GB stick. It is likely his RAM is running in dual-channel mode.

3 - Different motherboards, there may be some SLIGHT performance differences.

I actually don't think the differences I listed would explain large discrepancy in performance, but they will contribute a little to it.

Do you have multicore rendering turned on in the CS:GO Settings?

Most likely in the graphics settings.

I didn't realize you are running only one stick of memory in the kaby lake system, that definitely could have an impact on FPS.

Even if you do get the same type it doesn't guarantee that they'll work, but there is a higher chance of it happening.

i don't think it will make a 70fps difference, but it could make a big difference nonetheless.

Any other reason of this happening? thanks for your help, btw this doesnt happen in all games, sometimes i actually get higher frames than my friend.

Do you both have multicore enhancement on or off? Or is it even in your BIOS?

I'm not familiar with your BIOS, so just go thru every setting that is CPU related.
