Solution

I was just able to download 17.10.1 from the official download page with no issues at all.

https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/contribute?version=17.10.1&architecture=amd64

Just click on the "Not now, take me to the download >" link in the bottom left corner.

And I misspoke earlier. The wireless adapter is a Realtek, not Broadcom. Happens when multiple pages/threads are open simultaneously.

That is the newest version I of ubuntu I have been able to find. On the ubuntu website I clicked to get 17.01, but it redirected me to the 16.04 download. :/

I appreciate the link, and will be using it, but I wold think that my hardware which is from 2015 when I bought the device, would be supported in 16.04. Also the wireless adapter in the ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL I could have sworn was broadcom, but you may be correct. Also I have no audio hardware either apparently.

That makes sense, but the ASUS support page says that the wired LAN is Realtek, which is working, but the wireless LAN is broadcom drivers, and the audio, which also does not exist according to Ubuntu, is Realtek.
