The last time I had a sudden shut down problem, it was an overheating graphics card. I have since replaced that and things were good for a long time.

This time I think its my power supply. So as I said my computer has been suddenly shutting down. Twice while I was playing Skyrim with max graphics. I had to flip the power switch on the PSU to get it to boot the first time it happened.

The second time it wouldn't boot at all, well only at first. I went in and fastened all the connections to the power supply as that usually helps most of my boot issues. Then when I pressed the button, the lights started coming on as if it was booting. But it didn't actually boot, as the lights just flashed off and on rapidly. It was weird.

So I turned it off again, and assuming that the PSU just wasn't getting enough power to boot, I tried removing the PSU power cord from the surge protector and put it directly in the outlet. When I pressed the button this time, my computer booted up successfully.

So I can only imagine that either the surge protector isn't good enough, or the PSU is having issues. I'm going to buy a new surge protector to test it out, but what are the chances my PSU could be on the way out?
