As an architecture student, I’m looking to build a PC for 3D Modelling, Revit and Rendering. As a student, I have limited access to a PC that is powerful enough to render efficiently. Below I have an example PC Build that does what I need it to, however, I would like to do minimise costs to around $1500 AUD. Is it possible to do so and still achieve a great, powerful machine?

Software being used it VRAY, RHINOCEROS and REVIT. System requirements are below.

INTEL® CORE™ i7-8700K PROCESSOR 12M Cache 6C/12T 3.7/4.7GHZ 95 TDP ($549)

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive WD10EZEX ($62)

Microsoft Windows 10 Home 32/64 Bit USB Flash Drive ($149)

Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Ultra Durable LGA 1151 Motherboard ($215)

Leadtek Quadro K620 2GB GDDR3 Graphics Card - For Designers/Multimedia Creators ($269)

Cooler Master Hyper 212X Universal CPU Cooler ($50)

550W Thermaltake Toughpower Modular Power Supply 80+ Gold Rating ($115)

Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB (2 x 8GB) 2400MHz DDR4 RAM, Black - HX424C15FBK2/16 ($269)

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB Solid State Drive - MZ-75E500BW ($208)

Thermaltake Versa H22 Mid Tower Chassis + 500W Power Supply Included ($95)

If you have any tips, suggestions of reducing cost, recommended parts, conflicts to be aware of, etc. please let me know. Thanks in advance for all your help.

System Requirements

RHINO

Our suggested minimum practical system requirements for a new desktop machine running Rhino 5 64bit are as follows:
* Intel Core i5 7400 Quad Core or AMD equivalent.
* 8 GB RAM.
* 500 GB HD.
* Open GL Graphics Card.
* Windows 10 Professional.

VRAY

System Requirements
Please make sure that your system fulfills these requirements before installing V-Ray. Note that V-Ray is only supported for 64-bit operating systems and 64-bit versions of Rhino.
* Processor: Intel® Pentium ® IV or compatible processor with SSE3 support. Need a powerful workstation recommendation? Contact us
* Memory: 4 GB RAM and 4 GB swap minimum – recommended 8 GB or more RAM, 8 GB or more swap file.
* USB Port: A spare USB port is needed if you are using a dongle to license V-Ray.
* Graphics Card: A good graphics card is recommended if you plan to do rendering using GPU. Need a powerful workstation recommendation? Contact us
* TCP/IP: Only IPv4 is supported. IPv6 is currently not supported.
* Connectivity: Internet connection needed for Online License (Cloud License) access.
* Operating System: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only).
* Rhino: Rhino for Windows 5 or later (64-bit versions only).  Rhino 5 for Mac is not supported yet.

Solution
To start with, you can ditch the power supply and the cpu cooler. The i7 comes with one that you can use, and the case you chose comes with a power supply. You should be able to get 16GB of DDR4 for about $70-80 less. And you can save money by not getting an SSD and a hard drive. A 1 TB hard drive should be less than $50 right now. You can also get a less expensive workstation video card.
