24gb ram installed only 16gb showing

Motherboard is h170 pro gaming
I had 8gb ddr4 previously installed , yesterday i bought 16gb more , the system only detects 16gb not 24.

I resetted by CMOS , check each one and each slot , same result, BUT if i put a 8gb on slot a1 , 8gb in slot a2 , and 4gb in slot b1 i get 12gb .

Memory is guaranteed to work in the form it is sold not in any other combinations. Since the old memory has never been tested with the new memory, you are the first to test that combination for compatibility.

Some workarounds to get extra memory to work include:
Lower memory frequency
Relax DRAM timings
Increase DRAM voltage
Lower CPU multiplier

What is the manufacturer and part number of the kit? Your test leads me to believe they may be 4 GB modules.
