So i just installed a new gtx 1050ti yesterday in my fairly old pc, and was testing it to play mafia 3 for a few hours when suddenly the pc just suddenly freezes with a screeching audio loop and had to force restart it. So I did, and I immediately started mafia 3 again but on the main menu it froze again but this time the pc just died down after a few second freeze. Then when it starts back up there was no signal on the display and the pc just turns on for 3 second then shuts down repeatedly so It wouldn’t even boot up now. I’m at a loss here and any help from the community is appreciated. Thanks!

Here are my specs:
CPU: Intel core i3-3210 3.20 ghz
MoBo: AsRock B65M-GL R2.0
GPU: Zotac GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB
RAM: Corsair vengeance 1x8GB DDR3
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 7200rpm
PSU: Corsair VS550

Solution
it could either be your RAM or your PSU. only way to figure this out is borrow an extra one from a friend. or just go to the service shop.

Tried cleaning my psu and cpu cooler and reapplying the thermalpaste, it seemed to work at the moment. I think the cpu or psu got overheated (i don’t know if psu’s get overheat tho), I can say this mainly bcs the inside of the psu was really dusty when I opened it. Either way, I’m planning to switch my psu since the corsair vs series had been gaining negative reputation and I don’t want to take the risk. Will a seasonic eco 430w work fine on my system?
